Trophi took control of their climate data and built their own analysis in just one workday

Trophi is the Nordic region’s leading real estate company within grocery retail, with over 300 commercial properties in Sweden and Finland. Sustainability is a natural part of the business and to work smart with climate impact you need the right data. When you need it. Without hassle.
The challenge
Like many other companies, Trophi needed to analyze the climate impact of their property portfolio, both to gain better internal insights and to clearly and transparently communicate their climate impact externally.
To truly understand their properties, Trophi needed to combine energy and area data from the entire property portfolio with climate impact data from the properties and the rest of the company. This is challenging in many systems, where exports have to be requested and processed before they can finally be pieced together. On top of that, it is difficult to create an analysis environment that both provides an overall view and allows users to drill down into details when needed.
Emission Twin served as the central hub
To gain better control of their data and build a more flexible analysis environment, Trophi created an internal data lake. With support from an IT consultant, several data points, such as property data, energy consumption and climate impact. Were gathered into a shared system. From there, everything was visualized in Power BI according to Trophi’s specific needs.
Emission Twin became a key component of their climate reporting:
- Data for climate calculations was reported to Emission Twin through simple integrations from Trophi’s Power BI solution.
- Once the climate calculations were completed, they could be exported back into Trophi’s internal Power BI environment, ready to be visualized directly in their internal dashboards.
This meant Trophi could both feed data into and retrieve data from Emission Twin. Smooth, fast, and no coding required. The result was an integrated workflow where climate data flows seamlessly between systems. Emission Twin worked smoothly in both directions, making it easy to integrate with existing systems and routines.
And it was quick: in just one workday, the visualization was up and running.
